Environmental sustainability
Since early 2018, we have been producing roughly 50 % of the energy needed to run the company. We have, in fact, installed an integrated solar photovoltaic system on our premises for carbon neutrality.
The importance of environmental issues and ESG is and will be evermore crucial to the future of our societies. It is for this reason that we have chosen photovoltaic energy to improve the environmental sustainability of our company.
The use of renewable resources for the production of clean energy has resulted in a reduction of approximately 80,000 kg of CO2 emissions per year.
In January 2021, we replaced all the neon lights with energy-efficient LED light sources.
This change in lighting has not only improved visibility in the workplace, but it has also allowed us to consume 40 % less energy. This has led to a further reduction of approximately 12,000 kg of CO2 emissions per year.
Furthermore, in 2022, we purchased a new warehouse near to the existing plant. There, again, we have installed a photovoltaic system. Thus, between the energy consumed by self-production and the energy that is fed into the grid, we manage to compensate about 80% of the energy we consume for our work into the grid.
We believe that if we all try to limit energy consumption, and if we pay greater attention to matters of the environment, it will benefit the environment, our society and our country.
